Do you know anything about bushing?

Bushing, also known as hexagonal internal and external threaded joints, is generally made by cutting and forging hexagonal rods. It can connect internal and external threaded fittings of two pipes with different diameters and plays an irreplaceable role in pipeline connection.

Specifications:

The formal notation is’ outer diameter x inner diameter ‘, such as 15 * 20, 20 * 32, 40 * 50, etc

What industries are commonly used for bushing?
As a component, bushing is commonly used in the water supply and drainage pipeline industry.

In what circumstances will bushing be used?
When the water pipe needs to be changed in diameter, a bushing is used. For example, when DN15 water pipes need to be reduced to DN20 water pipes. The DN15 water pipe is an outer wire pipe that connects one end of the inner wire of the bushing. The DN20 water pipe is an inner wire pipe, connected to one end of the outer wire of the bushing. If the DN20 water pipe is an outer thread pipe, an inner thread shrink joint can be connected between the DN20 outer thread pipe and the bushing, which can be easily connected to any water appliance and valve gauge. Industry and daily life are often used to change the size of the pipe diameter by adjusting the internal and external threads (teeth) of the pipe.

The difference between bushing and reducer:

In many cases, people often confuse bushing and reducer, but in fact, the two products are relatively simple to distinguish.

The bushing is made up of one inner thread and one outer thread, with socket and threaded connections depending on the situation. And on both sides of the big and small heads are outer threads.

The biggest difference is that in terms of head loss, the water head loss of the filling head is much greater than that of the large and small heads, which is very unfavorable for liquid flow. Therefore, the use of the filling head is limited. But the filling head has its own advantages, which are more suitable for installation in narrow space locations, as well as some terminal water points that are flexible and do not have high pressure requirements, or require pressure reduction
