Aluminum Flanges

Flange is a flat circular or square connecting component with holes on its edges for connecting flanges together through bolts or nuts. Aluminum flanges are usually made of aluminum alloy and are mainly used in pipeline systems to provide connection points between different components, thereby constructing larger pipeline networks.

Type:

1. Flat flange: It is the simplest and most common type of aluminum flange, usually used to connect straight pipes or equipment.
2. Slip On flange: Compared to plate flanges, it has an additional neck and can easily slide into the pipeline. It is fixed by welding and is suitable for low pressure and low temperature applications.
3. Weld Neck flange: With a long neck, suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications, welded to pipelines. The scope of use is relatively small.

Standard:

Common aluminum flange standards include:
1.ANSI standard: A standard developed by the American National Standards Institute, such as ANSI B16.5.
2.ASME standard: A standard developed by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, such as ASME B16.5.
3.DIN standard: German industrial standard, such as DIN 2576.
4.JIS standard: Japanese industrial standard, such as JIS B2220.

Advantages and disadvantages:

Advantages:

1. Lightweight and high-strength: Aluminum alloy has the characteristics of lightweight and high-strength, which helps to reduce the weight of pipeline systems.
2. Corrosion resistance: Aluminum alloys have good corrosion resistance and are suitable for applications that do not require high corrosion resistance.
3. Conductivity: Aluminum is an excellent conductive material, suitable for situations that require conductivity.
4. Easy to process: Aluminum alloy is easy to process and the manufacturing process is relatively simple.

Disadvantages:

1. Not suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications: Aluminum flanges have relatively low temperature and pressure resistance, making them unsuitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications.
2. Easy to wear: Compared to some harder metals, aluminum alloys are more susceptible to friction and wear.
3. High welding technology requirements: In some applications that require welding, aluminum welding technology requirements are relatively high.
