The measurement range is tens of Pa to tens of MPa.

In addition, the bellows can also be used as a sealing isolation element to separate two kinds of media or prevent harmful fluid from entering the measuring part of the equipment. It can also be used as a compensation element to compensate the temperature error of the instrument by using its volume variability. Sometimes it is also used as the elastic joint of two parts. The expansion joint is a flexible structure set on the vessel shell or pipeline to compensate the additional stress caused by temperature difference and mechanical vibration. Utilize the effective expansion and deformation of the bellows of its main body to absorb the size changes of pipelines, conduits, containers, etc. caused by thermal expansion and cold contraction, or compensate the axial, transverse and angular displacement of pipelines, conduits, containers, etc. It can also be used for noise reduction, vibration reduction and heat supply. In order to prevent pipe deformation or damage due to thermal elongation or temperature stress when the heat supply pipe is heated, it is necessary to set a compensator on the pipe to compensate the thermal elongation of the pipe, so as to reduce the stress on the pipe wall and the force acting on the valve or support structure.

As an elastic compensation element that can expand and contract freely, the expansion joint has the advantages of reliable operation, good performance, compact structure, etc. It has been widely used in chemical, metallurgical, nuclear and other departments. There are many types of expansion joints used on vessels. In terms of corrugated shapes, U-shaped expansion joints are most widely used, followed by Ω – shaped and C-shaped expansion joints. As far as structural compensation is concerned, expansion joints used in pipelines can be divided into universal type, pressure balanced type, hinge type and universal joint type.

Relationship and Difference between Compensator and Bellows:

Bellows are a kind of elastic elements. The product name covers a wide range of industries and applications. There are many types and materials of corrugated pipes, such as rubber corrugated pipes, aluminum corrugated pipes, plastic corrugated pipes, carbon corrugated pipes, stainless steel corrugated pipes, etc., which are widely used in machinery, equipment, bridges, culverts, buildings, heating, food and other industries.

The compensator is also known as bellows compensator and expansion joint. Its main core flexure is stainless steel bellows. Therefore, it is not accurate to call “bellows compensator” “bellows” in the market generally.

The full name of the compensator shall be “bellows compensator or bellows expansion joint”, and “bellows” can only represent an object of its shape.

The compensator is mainly made of corrugated pipe. There are many types of compensator packages, including: corrugated compensator, axial outward pressure corrugated compensator, stainless steel corrugated compensator, non-metallic corrugated compensator, etc.

The corrugated pipe is the component material of the compensator.
